TULSA, OK – September 12, 2007 - Melton Truck Lines, an air-ride flatbed carrier based in Tulsa, OK, is pleased to announce the increase of their fleet to 1,000 trucks. After beginning in 1989 with only 30 trucks and six employees, the company has grown to a current fleet of 1,000 trucks.  The company is planning a celebration for office employees and drivers on September 13, 2007 at their headquarters in Tulsa.  Melton terminals in Birmingham, Laredo, and El Paso will also be participating in the festivities.
The 1,000th truck is a signature Melton-blue Kenworth T-600 with a special insignia on the side indicating this milestone.  The driver of the new truck will be chosen from a select group of exceptional drivers based on MPG, production and safety requirements who have served at least 1,000 days with Melton.  The “christening” of this special truck will take place at the celebration in Tulsa.
