
ATA Unveils Sustainability Program for Lowering CO2 EmissionsThe American Trucking Associations is planning to formally unveil the first industry-wide sustainability report and recommendations for lowering CO2 emissions. CEOs and other senior leaders of some of America’s leading trucking companies will join ATA President Bill Graves this week in releasing a new report outlining six recommendations for action that comprise the industry’s new sustainability program. A senior director from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will also participate and will provide information about the EPA’s SmartWay program.
Participants will hear from some of the trucking industry’s leading figures on how they are integrating sustainable practices into their business models to cut fuel consumption and reduce the impact of trucking on the environment by lowering CO2 emissions. Companies to be represented include Titan Transfer, FedEd, Schneider National, UPS and Con-way.
